1.. The Hideaway County Club
2. Old Corkscrew Golf Club
3. Old Orange at Verandah Golf Club
4. Whispering Oak at Verandah Golf Club
5. Colonial Country Club
Hideaway scored highest in-state in four of the five subcategories; conditions, value, pace of play and food and beverage.
A. Conditions: It’s beautiful. Golfers marvel about the feel. It’s like playing on a green carpet. I think it’s the grass of the future and it’s good here because it reacts well to salt water.
B. Value: It costs$33. to9 play open from 7 a.m. till 3 p. m. Tuesday through Sunday. It’s a good fit for our community and they don’t plan on raising the rates next year.
C. Pace of Play: On the score card it is clearly written: Slow play is not tolerated. Please keep pace with the group ahead of you. This makes for more fun for all golfers.
D. Food and Beverage: For an extra $5. people can get lunch, selected items off the menu along with a soft drink or draft beer.
I think it is the best for all these reasons. “it’s a well maintained course, the staff is very friendly and nobody ever gets in your way. When you play you can enjoy the afternoon.
